Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God,
Philippians 4:6.
Anticipation, regardless of the cause, stems from the root of distrusting
God.
Anticipation preoccupies our thoughts, either with doubts and fears, in the form of
questions, concerns and confusion, such as: What if it does or doesn't happen? What do I
do then? What is the worst that may happen? I wonder when it will happen?
God does not wish for us to be anxious. He has not given us a spirit
of fear or timidity, but of power love and a sound mind,
2nd Timothy 1:7.
We can rest assured that God is not confused, fearful or anxious, in heaven as He sits on His
throne and nether should we be.
- Anticipation of personal desires, (unwise).
Whether it be a lust of the flesh or a godly desire, will often times provoke you to
do foolish things that you otherwise would not do, as trying to make them happen, etc.
and the king said to them, I have had a dream, and my spirit is
anxious to know the dream, Daniel 2:3.
- Anticipations of the unknown, (uncertainly).
But as for your donkeys that were lost three days ago, do not be
anxious about them, for they have been found,
1st Samuel 9:20.
- fearful anticipations, (worry).
And do not seek what you should eat or what you should drink, nor
have an anxious mind, Luke 12:29.
- Results of being anxious, (you speak unwisely).
Therefore my anxious thoughts make me answer, Because of the
turmoil within me, Job 20:2.
